Since you did this mod a year ago, have you found the additional regulator has in fact prevented the oil from forming in the lines? Might try exchanging it to see if a replacement solves the problem. Makes no sense to me to have an auto system and run it in manual. If you can actually light the stove with the main valve closed, then shut the stove off, then get the stove to light again a couple of hours later, you almost certainly have a leak.
